DISCUSSION

On May 17, 2021, Council approved an agreement with Univar Solutions USA, Inc., (Univar) for the supply and delivery of Sodium Fluoride for the contract term ending June 30, 2022, with the option to extend for two one-year periods through June 30, 2024.

The original contract included pricing for the potential year 2 ($1.35/lb) and 3 ($1.49/lb) extension terms.  However, due to global economic conditions and supply chain failure, the vendor was unable to honor this pricing. A First Amendment was approved by Council on August 1, 2022, with a revised pricing of $2.15/lb through June 2023.

Univar has reduced their unit pricing to $1.89/lb through June 2024. Staff is requesting to approve the Second Amendment for the 2023/2024 Fiscal Year.
