DISCUSSION
The City/County Relations dinner is a dinner meeting aimed at building relationships and collaboration among all cities in Merced County, including Merced County. This dinner is held once every quarter and is hosted by the local agencies on a rotation basis. This quarter is City of Merced’s turn to host the City/County Relations dinner.
The dinner will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Merced Yosemite Reginal Airport. This includes set up time and cleanup time.
A no-host bar with tours of the new airport terminal will be held from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm, with dinner and a presentation from Restore Merced from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. A vendor will be procured to sell and serve beer and wine. The vendor will be responsible for obtaining a liquor license.
The event will be held outside the new airport terminal in an area called the “apron” (see location map).
City Manager staff is requesting approval to use the outside area of the new airport terminal and to sell beer and wine during the City/County dinner.
IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES
There is a $40 charge to attend the dinner, with an estimated 70 attendees expected.
Should the expenses of the dinner exceed the revenue, $1,000 has been budgeted in the City Council travel and meeting line to cover any shortfalls.
