Project Funding
Last year's funding for art projects was not allocated to new projects primarily because the focus was on completing the pending projects from the 2022/23 allocation, along with the Caltrans Clean California projects and the Heartland Grant Projects, administered by the United Way of Merced County. Additionally, weather conditions posed many unexpected delays, and staffing resources were lean.
2024/25 City Sponsored Art Projects
The Arts and Culture Advisory Commission has appointed a subcommittee to develop and recommend art projects for this round of funding. The subcommittee will present recommendations at the 9/19 ACAC meeting.
• Important to note: At the 7/18 ACAC meeting, the commission approved a photography art project titled, Falling in Love with Merced, to highlight the fall landscapes in the City of Merced. 15 photographers will be selected to display their photographs at a photo exhibition scheduled in December 2024. The commission approved a $10,000 project budget.
