DISCUSSION
On January 3, 2022, Council approved waiving the competitive bidding requirement and entering into an annual supply and service agreement with Interstate Truck Center, LLC, in the amount not to exceed $50,000 purchase of various vehicle parts and vehicle repair/parts installation services.
The City of Merced Public Works Department utilizes multiple vendors for the purchase of various parts, equipment, materials, and supplies. These materials and goods are needed for regular maintenance, unforeseen repair work, or work related to vehicle accidents that damage City vehicles and equipment.
The Public Works Fleet division performs in-house maintenance and repair work related to the materials referenced above. However, occasionally due to staffing or specialty repair work needed, these services may be outsourced to various vendors.
Due to maintenance needs, as well as increased costs of parts and supplies, the Public Works Department is requesting Council approve an amendment to the annual supply agreement to be executed up to $50,000 with Interstate Truck Center, for a total contract amount of $100,000. The amendment has been approved as to form by the City Attorney’s Office and funding is available within the FY 2021/2022 adopted budget.
IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES
No appropriation of funds is needed; funding is available within the FY 2021/2022 adopted budget.
