SUBJECT: Review Youth Center Program Quarterly Reports in Consideration of use of the Facility as a Service Provider.

 

REPORT IN BRIEF

Youth Service Providers have submitted the attached reports to communicate program efforts to the Recreation and Parks Commission in consideration of their use of the facility as a Service Provider. These quarterly reports reflect the efforts made to program in the Youth Center awarded to each Provider for the current fiscal year.

CITY COUNCIL PRIORITIES

2024/2025- Parks- Explore opportunities for increased accessibility to recreational services for all residents.

 

DISCUSSION

Current terms and conditions for use of recreational facilities are guaranteed for one year with the potential to extend use to Providers for an additional two years beyond initial award, based on service provider performance.

 

Quarterly reports are provided to serve several functions including but not limited to assisting Providers to report their efforts, standardize the collection of information determined to be important to the use of Recreation Facilities, and to assist in the decision-making process when considering requests for contract extensions by current Providers. 

 

The attached reports were provided to the Director of Parks & Community Services to share with Commission. These reports reflect the services provided in Quarter 2 (October 1, 2024 - December 31, 2024).

 

Reports were Provided by Boys and Girls Club of Merced County, Challenged Family Resource Center, Restorative Justice League and LifeLine CDC.

 

IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES

Each contract for use of Recreational Facilities includes an allocation from the Parks & Community Services budget to offset operational costs. The amount dedicated towards the operation of youth centers for FY24/25 is $40,000.
