REPORT IN BRIEF
Considers reappointing currently seated individuals to an additional term.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion reappointing qualified individuals who are eligible for, and interested in, an additional term on the Arts and Culture Advisory Commission, Building and Housing Board of Appeals, and Planning Commission.

DISCUSSION
Diana Odom Gunn and Colton Dennis were appointed to the newly established Arts and Culture Advisory Commission on November 19, 2018. Ms. Gunn and Mr. Dennis were two of three members that were given the shorter term and are eligible for reappointment to a full term. They both have expressed their desire for reappointment.
Casey Steed was appointed to the Building and Housing Boards of Appeal on December 16, 2019 as a replacement appointment. Mr. Steed is eligible for reappointment to a full term on the Board and has expressed his desire for reappointment.
Mary Camper was appointed to the Planning Commission on March 14, 2017 as a replacement appointment. Ms. Camper is eligible for reappointment to a full term and has expressed her desire for reappointment.
History and Past Actions
The Arts and Culture Advisory Commission was created to advise City Council on all matters pertaining to with public art, art projects, cultural programs, and activities and the promotion of the arts within the City of Merced. The Commission consists of seven members who serve four-year terms.
The Building and Housing Board of Appeals hears and decides appeals of orders, decisions, or determinations made by the Chief Building Official relative to the application and interpretation of the Merced Municipal Code, including all Building Code, Housing Code, Administrative Code, Electrical Code, Mechanical Code, Plumbing Code, Fire Prevention Code, and Abatement of Dangerous Building Code.
The Planning Commission recommends to the City Council the adoption, amendment, or repeal of the City’s Master Plan for the physical development of the City.
Attached are the current rosters for the Arts and Culture Advisory Commission, the Building and Housing Board of Appeals, the Planning Commission, and the current applications on file for members seeking reappointment. The matter is now before the Council.
