DISCUSSION

The Recreation and Parks Commission along with City Council have developed an interest in additional oversight of the use of City Recreational Facilities to ensure investments are in alignment with the mission of the Parks and Community Services Department. The terms of use for recreational facilities are guaranteed for one year with the potential to extend use to Providers for an additional year, based on Providers program performance.

Quarterly reports serve several functions including providing a platform for Providers to showcase their efforts and outcomes, standardize the collection of information determined to be important to the consideration of facility use, and to assist in the decision-making process when considering requests for facility use extensions by current Providers.

The attached reports were provided to the Director of Parks & Community Services to share with Commission. These reports reflect the services provided in Quarter 2 (October 1, 2023- December 31, 2023).

Reports were received from Challenged Family Resource Center and Life Line CDC but not from Boys and Girls Club of Merced County nor Restorative Justice League.
