DISCUSSION

At the June 1, 2026, meeting, City Council designated $30,000 for FY 2026/27 Community Funding. The FY 2026/27 Community Funding Request for Proposals was advertised on June 18, 2026, and closed on July 9, 2026.

Fourteen (14) proposals were received by the deadline. Below is a summary of the proposals received.

At the August 3, 2026 meeting, City Council selected an Ad-Hoc Committee to review, score, and recommend proposals to receive community funding. The Ad-Hoc Committee met on August 12, 2026.

As part of the review and discussion, the Ad-Hoc Committee reflected on concerns and issues raised by the community. One of these concerns is having a safe place for youth activities. Many of the Ad-Hoc Committee’s recommendations were made with this in mind.  The Ad-Hoc Committee also chose to focus on seniors for this year’s community funding. Below are the recommend proposals with the recommended community funding allotment.

Staff is requesting Council’s approval of the Ad-Hoc Committee’s recommendations.

Once City Council approves the FY 26/27 Community Funding recipients, staff will contact the successful proposers to enter into a Services Agreement to obligate the scope of work and award amount.

IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES

The FY 2026/2027 budget has an allocation of $30,000 for community funding.
