REPORT IN BRIEF
Considers approving a Resolution re-establishing the City Council’s subcommittees and ad hoc committees as Standing Committees and Ad Hoc Committees consistent with the newly adopted Policy C-8 for the remainder of the 2025-2026 Council term.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion approving a Resolution 2026-12, a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Merced, California, affirming assignments to City Council Committees and Appointments to Regional Organizations and Joint Powers Authorities.

DISCUSSION
At the February 2, 2026, City Council meeting, the City Council adopted a new Administrative Policies and Procedures C-8, “City Council Committees and Appointments to Regional Organizations and Joint Powers Authorities and authorized a Resolution for future Council consideration implementing Policy C-8 regarding the City Council’s Standing Committees, Subcommittees and Ad Hoc Committees.
IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES
Presently, staff is assessing the fixed and operational impacts of all the City’s Brown Act meetings pursuant to newly state authorized Brown Act modifications effective July 1, 2026. The incremental cost and staff time caused by the adoption of this resolution is unknown at this time.
