Art and Culture Advisory Commission - Adopt a motion appointing members to a Subcommittee to Conduct Research and Create a Maintenance Plan for City of Merced Art Projects.

Staff recommends the ACAC appoint a subcommittee to research and develop a maintenance plan to ensure the preservation of existing installations and facilitate the success of upcoming projects.
Development of an art maintenance plan is essential to preserve cultural heritage by ensuring that artworks representing the community's identity and history remain intact for a designated period of time. Additionally, well-maintained public art contributes to the visual appeal of art installations on city owned properties and rights-of-way, potentially boosting tourism, attracting businesses, and increasing property values. Furthermore, public art fosters community pride and engagement.
A well-defined maintenance plan will identify the lifespan of the city's various art projects, including murals and sculptures and other forms of art installations, a percentage of total project funding to be set aside for maintenance.
