REPORT IN BRIEF
Considers a recommendation for lessee(s) for the McNamara Youth Center for programming. The lease is termed for one year with an option to extend for an additional year based on performance measures.

RECOMMENDATION
Recreation and Parks Commission - Adopt a motion:

A. Recommending lessee(s) for the McNamara Youth Center for programming for a one-year term with an option to extend the term for an additional year.

ALTERNATIVES
1. Approve Lifeline CDC application; or,
2. Approve Central Valley Pride Center application; or,
3. Approve Steady Studios application; or,
4. Approve, subject to other than recommended (identify specific findings and/or conditions amended to be addressed in the motion); or,
5. Deny.

DISCUSSION
The McNamara Youth Center is available for organizations for provide youth services and programming through a lease agreement with the City of Merced. The Parks and Recreation Department published a request for interest, seeking interested parties that want to provide programming in the facility. The Department received three applications for programming. The applicants are LifeLine CDC in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club of Merced, Central Valley Pride Center, and Steady Studios. Staff has reviewed the applications to ensure requirements of the request for interest are met. Staff is asking the Recreation and Parks Commission to make a recommendation to the City Council for a prospective lessee(s).
