SUBJECT: Consideration of Renaming Merced Youth Sports Complex as Nannini Youth Sports Complex as Recommended by the Recreation and Parks Commission
REPORT IN BRIEF
An application has been received by the Director of Parks and Community Services to consider renaming the Youth Sports Complex in honor of Mr. Dave Nannini.
RECOMMENDATION
Council - Adopt a motion approving the request from the community and supported by the subcommittee of the Recreation and Parks Commission to rename the Merced Youth Sports Complex in honor of Dave Nannini as the Nannini Youth Sports Complex.

DISCUSSION
The Parks and Community Services Director received an application to rename the Merced Youth Sports Complex in honor of Mr. Dave Nannini. The application was reviewed and found to be in compliance with review standards set forth in Administrative Policy A-20. A Public Hearing was scheduled for the May 23rd, 2022 Recreation and Parks Commission at which the subcommittee reviewed the application, heard public testimony, and provided their support for the application. The Recreation and Parks Commission voted to submit the application to council for formal adoption. Statements of support from the Public Hearing and application provided through the application.
