Considers approving a Professional Services Agreement with Hanson Bridgett LLP, for legal services related to the VST Annexation in the amount of $36,000.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:
A. Approving a Professional Services Agreement with Hanson Bridgett, LLP, for legal services related to the preparation of a Pre-Annexation Development Agreement for the VST Annexation in an amount of $36,000.
B. Authorizing the Finance Officer to make the necessary budget adjustments; and,
C. Authorizing the City Manager to execute the necessary documents.

DISCUSSION
Hanson Bridgett, LLP has been providing legal services for the City since July 2023. The City has used this legal service provider to support the City Attorney's Office in the areas of Police, Land Development and Planning Commission concerns and this agreement is currently $200,000. The City's Development Services Department is requesting a separate agreement to negotiate and prepare the Pre-Annexation Development Agreement for the Virginia Smith Trust (VST) annexation. The cost for this services is $36,000.
The funds to cover this expense are in the current year budget which were received from the Virginia Smith Trust. Once this agreement is approved, Funds will need to be transferred into Outside Legal Service Account.
City Council Action
The City Council is being asked to approve the Professional Services Agreement with Hanson Bridgett, LLP for services related to the VST Annexation.
