REPORT IN BRIEF
Requesting City Council to adopt a resolution creating an Ad-Hoc Committee for the review, scoring, and selection of proposals for the FY 26/27 Community Funding and to appoint three (3) members of the City Council to said Ad-Hoc Committee.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:
A. Appointing three (3) City Council members to the Community Funding Ad-Hoc Committee; and
B. Adopting Resolution 2026-46, a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Merced, California, creating an Ad-Hoc Committee for the review, scoring, and recommendation of proposals for the FY 26/27 Community Funding.

1. Refer back to Staff for reconsideration of the process for reviewing, scoring, and recommending proposals for the FY 26/27 Community Funding as directed by City Council; or,
2. Continue to a future meeting; or,
3. Deny.

DISCUSSION
At the June 1, 2026 meeting, the City Council designated $30,000 for FY 2026/27 Community Funding. The FY 2026/27 Community Funding Request for Proposals was advertised on June 18, 2026, and closed on July 9, 2026.
Historically, the City Council Budget Subcommittee reviewed, scored, and selected proposals to receive Community Funding. However, Resolution No. 2026-12, adopted by the City Council on January 6, 2026, dissolved the Budget Subcommittee. As a result, a committee must be established to review and recommend funding proposals.
