DISCUSSION
At the January 2024 Arts and Culture Advisory Commission Meeting, the commission approved issuing a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Local Photography Submissions and approved the planning of a Summer Art Exhibition at the Applegate Park Merced Open Air Theater (MOAT).
The project received 21 submissions. The Subcommittee reviewed all photography submissions and, based on criteria outlined in the RFP, recommends 20 submissions for display at the upcoming June 8, 2024, inaugural exhibition at the Applegate Park MOAT.
IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES
On February 20, 2024, Council approved a supplemental appropriation from the General Fund, Unencumbered, Unreserved Fund Balance of $3,000 for the event.
