Body

DISCUSSION

This request is in support of the petition submitted by Boutique Air requesting that the City Council make Boutique Air its 1st Choice Recommendation for Essential Air Service to the Department of Transportation.

As provided in the May 28th formal letter, CEO Shawn Simpson states, “Boutique Air is committed to significant economic development and job growth in Merced”. For this reason, this item has been requested to be reconsidered by Council Member Echevarria. These benefits would specifically benefit the community of District 2. Council Member Echeverria is looking forward to seeing this placed on the agenda for further discussion and direction from my fellow council members.
