DISCUSSION

To expedite the conduct of business at this policy making meeting, each City Council is asked to designate a voting representative who will be present at the Annual Business Meeting. The League bylaws provide that each city is entitled to one vote in matters affecting municipal or League policy.

As Councilmember Harris will attend the Annual Business Meeting, it is expected that Councilmember Harris be designated as the voting delegate.

Cal Cities requires that voting delegates be formally designated by City Council action. This action cannot be delegated to the mayor or the city manager.

Once the City Council has made its designation, staff will submit the delegate information through the Cal Cities online portal.
