SUBJECT: Considers a Lease Agreement for the 27th and K (Central) Youth Center with Challenged Family Resource Center for Daytime Children's All-Inclusive Programming for a One Year Term with an Option to Extend the Term for an Additional Term of Two Years
REPORT IN BRIEF
Considers a lease agreement for the 27th and K (Central) Youth Center to Challenged Family Resource Center for daytime children's programming focused on all-inclusive play. The lease is termed for one year with an option to extend for an additional two years based on performance measures. The applicant received approval from the current tenant for daytime use and confirmed it would not interfere with current programming at the facility.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:
A. Approving the contract with Challenged Family Resource Center for daytime children's programming at the Central Youth Center; and,
B. Authorizing the City Manager or Deputy City Manager to execute the necessary documents.

DISCUSSION
The City Council instructed staff to rehabilitate the 27th and K Youth Center in order to lease the facility out for youth programming activities. The Parks and Recreation Department published a request for interest, seeking interested parties and recently awarded the lease to Restorative Justice League for afterschool programming.
