Title
SUBJECT: Approval of Reappointments (District 4 and District 6) and Appointment of a New Applicant (District 1) to the Planning Commission
REPORT IN BRIEF
Considers reappointing currently seated individuals to an additional term and appointing a new applicant to a currently vacant seat on the Planning Commission.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:
A. Reappointing two qualified individuals who are eligible for, and interested in, an additional term on the Planning Commission for District 4 and District 6; and,
B. Appointing a qualified elector of District 1 to fill the current vacancy on the Planning Commission for said district.

1. Reappoint and appoint individuals as recommended by staff; or,
2. Reappoint and appoint select individuals; or,
3. Refer back to staff with direction to resume recruitment of applicants.

Article VII, Sections 700, 702, 702.1, 707 and 708 of the Merced City Charter.
CITY COUNCIL PRIORITIES
Not applicable.
DISCUSSION
Planning Commissioner Michael Harris was appointed in August of 2018 and has served one term. He is eligible for and has expressed his desire to be appointed to a second term.
Planning Commissioner Jose Delgadillo was appointed in October of 2019 and has served a partial term as a replacement. He is eligible for and has expressed his desire to be appointed to an additional term.
The District 1 seat has been vacant since June of this year when Stephanie Butticci resigned from her position on the commission. The Clerk's Office has received two eligible applications for the District 1 seat from Jeremiah Greggains and Darin Dupont.

The Planning Commission recommends to the City Council the adoption, amendment, or repeal of the City's Master Plan for the physical development of the City.
