REPORT IN BRIEF
Considers approving the Salary Tables for the Years 2023 and 2024 to bring the City of Merced in compliance with the CalPERS requirement for a publicly available pay schedule.

RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:

A. Adopting Resolution 2025-09, a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Merced, California approving the City-Wide Salary Tables for 2023 and 2024; and,

B. Authorizing the City Manager or Deputy City Manager to execute the necessary documents.

DISCUSSION
CalPERS requires all contracted agencies have a publicly available pay schedule that is in compliance with the Public Employees' Retirement Law (PERL), Public Employees' Pension Reform Act of 2013 (PEPRA) and Title 2 of the California Code of Regulations (CCR). Subdivision (a) of CCR section 570.5 defines the requirements for a public available pay schedule. Pay rates shall be limited to the amount listed on the ay schedule and must meet all the following eight (8) requirements:

1. Be duty adopted and approved by the employer's governing body in accordance with requirements of applicable public meetings laws.
2. Identify the position title for every employee position.
3. Show the pay rate as a single amount or multiple amounts within a range for each identified position.
