RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:

A. Accepting and increasing the revenue in Fund 1000-General Fund-Police Admin, Project GR240013 in the amount of $65,996; and,

B. Appropriating the same to Fund 1000-General Fund-Police Admin, Project GR240013; and,

C. Authorizing the Finance Officer to make the necessary budget adjustments.

DISCUSSION
Background

All Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in the State of California were provided this funding per Assembly Bill 178. There is no match required to accept these grant funds. There is no grant award/contract to sign. Funds are automatically distributed to each agency.

Description

This grant award is being made in accordance with Assembly Bill 178, Chapter 45, Statutes of 2022, Item 5227-121-0001 that provides $50 million for city and county law enforcement agencies for the purpose of improving officer wellness and expanding mental health sources. This funding is given to all city and county law enforcement agencies employing officers described in Section 830.1 of the Penal Code. The Officer Wellness and Mental Health Grant is for the purpose of improving officer wellness and expanding mental health sources as follows:
