SUBJECT: Airport Manager Report
REPORT IN BRIEF
Airport Staff have been focused on the Terminal Replacement Project. Weekly meetings with Diede Construction, Engineering Staff, Airport Staff and Mead & Hunt are held to give updates and to provide updated construction schedules.
Staff is gearing up to discuss the closure and plans for a new fuel farm at the Merced Yosemite Regional Airport. Single-walled underground storage tanks (USTs) must be permanently closed by December 31, 2025. This requirement includes both single-walled tanks and non-exempt single-walled piping per California Health and Safety Code, chapter 6.7, section 25292.05.
Airport Staff has been working with the Fire Department to provide an area in the Airport Industrial Park to use as wildfire training for City of Merced Fire Department Staff. This training will be held in May. Each year, empty lots are cleared for fire prevention.
The Airport purchased a John Deere 1600 Turbo Serier II mower using the FAA Maintenance and Operations Grant funds.
