DISCUSSION
Introduction to the Citizens Advisory Focus Group (CAFG) including the roles and responsibilities of CAFG members will be reviewed. The City project team, consultants, and community participants chosen to be on the CAFG will be introduced. The project organization structure, planned dates, and protocols for the meetings will be presented. An overview of the Merced General Plan Update (MGPU) goals, characteristics, required elements, and timeline will be covered. The presentation will include the community engagement strategy and ways that the community can participate to have their voices heard. The intertie between the Downtown Station Area Plan (DSAP) and the MGPU, with its more concentrated timeline due to grant funding deadlines. Review of the land use, zoning, and neighborhood characteristics of the current area proposed for the DSAP. Overall discussion on goals of the MGPU and DSAP.
