Considers approving a Service Agreement with Merced County to administer the Youth Jobs Program Using American Rescue Plan Act Funding in the Amount of $1,175,000 from July 1, 2024, to December 30, 2025.

RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:

A. Approving the Service Agreement with Merced County to administer the Youth Jobs Program in the amount of $1,175,000 from July 1, 2024, to December 30, 2025; and,

B. Authorizing the City Manager to execute the necessary documents; and,

C. Authorizing the Finance Officer to make the necessary budget adjustments.

DISCUSSION
As part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA), City Council designated $1,025,000 of ARPA funding for a youth job program at the January 18, 2022, meeting. Staff collaborated with Merced County Department of Workforce Investment to develop a scope of service for the youth job program and a Professional Service Agreement was brought forth to City Council for approval at the April 18, 2022, meeting.
