Body
BACKGROUND
In FY 23/24 City Council approved a mid-year $460,000 supplemental budget appropriation for the one-time replacement cost of the hardware and installation of a new fire station alerting system using Measure C funding. Several different fire station alerting systems were researched and it was determined that US Digital Designs (USDD) by Honeywell was the most robust and economical choice for the Fire Department. The USDD system was purchased utilizing a competitively bid cooperative purchasing agreement, National Purchasing Partners (NPPGov). The USDD system replaced an aged fire station alerting system that was at its end-of-life, leaving the system vulnerable to failure.
