SUBJECT: Authorization to Accept the Donation of "Two" 24 by 40-Foot Modular Buildings from Merced City School District for the Merced Regional Fire Training Center
REPORT IN BRIEF
Considers authorizing to accept a donation of "two" 24 by 40-foot modular buildings with a value of $70,000 from Merced City School District, as the main office and conference room/storage for the fire department at the Merced Regional Fire Training Center.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:
A. Accepting a donation in the form of "two" 24 by 40-foot modular buildings with a value of $70,000 from Merced City School District; and,
B. Authorizing the City Manager to execute the necessary documents.

DISCUSSION
The Merced Fire Department is currently in the design phase of the Merced Regional Fire Training Center. Included in the design is an office and conference room/storage building for fire department members, city employees and community members to conduct administrative functions as well as participate in a meeting environment. A typical portable classroom capable of holding thirty students with instructors' ranges between $100,000 and $300,000 dollars. The savings to the overall cost of the project is of significant value considering current cost of materials and services. The donation of the building creates very limited impact to the $3 Million donated by Senator Anna Caballero in 2022.
