DISCUSSION
A key initiative recommended by the Arts and Culture Advisory Commission is a series of three Brown Bag Lunch Concerts in Downtown Merced in Bob Hart Square or at the Civic Center. These concerts will offer residents an opportunity to enjoy live music during their lunch breaks, featuring one group per concert with a $1,500 budget per concert and a total project budget of $4,500.

The series will spotlight various genres. Following Council's approval, staff will issue a call for musicians or musical groups, with one group selected for each concert. This approach will ensure that each concert in the series is a unique and memorable experience for the Merced community.

IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES
As part of the 2023/24 Budget, the City Council allocated $100,000 for art installations and events across Merced. Since none of the funding was used the budget allocation carried forward into FY 2024/25.

A total of $4,500 in funding is available within the Fiscal Year 2024-25 budget for this expense.
