REPORT IN BRIEF

Review and approve the display of art projects created by youth at Merced City Schools on the first floor of the Civic Center.

 

RECOMMENDATION

Arts and Culture Advisory Commission - Adopt a motion approving a project that allows youth at Merced City Schools to display art projects on the first floor of the Civic Center.

DISCUSSION

City staff will collaborate with art program directors at Merced City Schools and partner agencies supporting youth art programs to display student artwork on the first floor of the Civic Center. These programs will be responsible for posting and removing their projects within the designated timeframe and deadlines set by City staff. Staff will maintain a calendar of scheduled exhibits and provide regular updates at Arts and Culture Advisory Commission (ACAC) meetings. Artwork will be featured for one to two weeks each month, depending on availability, to celebrate the creativity of Merced's youth and foster community engagement in the arts.
