Over the course of the last several years Fahrens Park Disc Golf Course has grown in both size and popularity. The Merced County Disc Golf Club hosts regularly scheduled events of various sizes ranging from small weekly gatherings to large scale, weekend long events. The Merced County Disc Golf Club is requesting a letter of support for their bid to host a 2026 Professional Disc Gold Association event at Fahrens Disc Golf Course in 2026. The event is expected to bring in thousands of players and spectators over the course of the weekend. MCDCG would be in charge of all operations including public notice of any detours to bike path use during the event, permits for food vendors, and the availability of restrooms. The City Parks & Community Services Department would support the event through coordination of volunteers and site preparation. Overflow parking is expected to be required and would be prepared for onsite within the dedicated disc golf course area.
