RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion approving an agreement for professional services (environmental and permitting) with Galvin Preservation Associates, Inc., a California Corporation, in the amount of $64,705.00, and authorizing the City Manager or Deputy City Manager to sign the necessary documents.

DISCUSSION
In Mid-August the City had a water main leak under the Bear Creek Bike Path near Oleander Avenue. The leak resulted in erosion of the embankment and the undercutting of the Bear Creek Bike Path. City Water Division staff were able to isolate the leak and abandon the portion of the water main that was run under Bear Creek. The City has been in contact with Merced County Public Works as this is in the County's jurisdiction. The City and County have worked together to coordinate efforts to begin the repair and the County is the CEQA Lead Agency as this is in the County's jurisdiction.

The City made contact with Galvin Preservation Associates (GPA). The City has current and previous contracts with GPA on other projects which require these services. The following are the main tasks associated with this contract:
