DISCUSSION

As part of an ongoing effort to consider options to lessen costs of operation city staff have been exploring a variety of options.  Over several years various proposals have been reviewed at a staff level for potential energy efficiency upgrades. Staff believed it was in the best interest of the city to bring these forward for discussion with the council and for feedback on potential next steps.

Energy Systems Group (ESG) is a valued partner with the League of California Cities.  They have provided an analysis of the city’s facilities at no cost and prepared a series of recommendations - project roadmap for potential consideration. ESG and their principals have done work with other governmental agencies which are seeing the benefits of these types of efficiency upgrades.
