DISCUSSION
City of Merced Human Resources staff conducted an external oral panel on April 17, 2026. There were 5 qualified candidates scheduled for the oral panel, but only two candidates received a passing score, and are eligible for placement on the employment eligibility list.
Anytime an employment list has less than 3 eligible candidates, the Personnel Board must approve the list before the department can move forward with the final round of interviews. This rule is per City Charter and Personnel Rules and Regulations.
