Considers an action to dissolve the Ballot Referendum Exploration Ad Hoc Subcommittee of the City of Merced City Council.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion dissolving the Ballot Referendum Exploration Ad Hoc Subcommittee of the City of Merced City Council.

4. Continue this item to a future City Council Meeting.
DISCUSSION
Staff is requesting that the City Council consider dissolving the Ballot Referendum Exploration Ad Hoc Subcommittee. This subcommittee was formed and affirmed by Merced City Council Resolution 2026-12. The subcommittee has completed many actions. A summary of those actions include:
• A review of potential funding sources to help maintain city operations and address long term capital needs
• Reviewing past community polling data regarding the use of bonds and assessments for capital facility needs
• Vendor consideration for community outreach and education assistance including two statistically valid polls to gauge community priorities
• Crafting measure questions to test potential interest in either special or general-purpose measure options, three total tested
• Review of polling data and discussion with the Merced City Council
On August 3, 2026, the City of Merced City Council adopted Resolution 2026-52 which provided for a measure question to be placed November 3, 2026, ballot for voter consideration.
At this time there are no additional roles for this subcommittee to fulfil on behalf of the council.
