REPORT IN BRIEF

Second Reading of previously introduced Ordinance.

 

RECOMMENDATION

City Council - Adopt Ordinance 2448, and Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Merced, California, Amending Section 10.28.230, “No Parking Zones”, Section 10.28.370, “Two-Way Stop Intersections”, and Section 10.28.380, “Stop Intersections Designated” of the Merced Municipal Code.

1.  Approve, as recommended by the Traffic Committee and staff; or,

2.  Approve subject to modifications as conditioned by the City Council; or,

3.  Deny; or,

4.  Refer back to staff for reconsideration of specific items (to be addressed in the motion); or,

5.  Continue to a future meeting (date and time to be specified in the motion.)

 

AUTHORITY

 This request amends the designated no parking zones listed in Merced Municipal Code (MMC) Section 10.28.230.  This request also amends the designated two-way stop intersections listed in MMC Section 10.28.370 and all-way stop intersections listed in MMC Section 10.28.380.

 

The California Vehicle Code (CVC) gives a local body (or official) jurisdiction for traffic control devices, provided the devices are installed in accordance with the State Traffic Manual
