DISCUSSION

Background:

On December 16, 2013, the City Council approved Resolution No. 2013-52, which continued the Merced Fire Department’s fire prevention fees until a Fee Study Analysis could be conducted and a subsequent resolution adopted modifying those fees.

A consultant, NBS, completed the Merced Fire Department (MFD) draft Fee Study Analysis and the findings were presented to the City Council at their March 21, 2016 study session and to the Greater Merced Chamber of Commerce.  The final Fee Study Analysis has been completed and the MFD is requesting a public hearing to allow public input and comment on the proposed fees and charges prior to updating its fee schedule.

IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES

None.
