REPORT IN BRIEF
Consider approving an agreement between the City of Merced Police Department and the Merced Community College District for police administrative services at the District's campuses.

RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:

A. Approving a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Merced and the Merced Community College District to provide police services in the District's campuses; and,

B. Authorizing the City Manager to execute the agreement; and,

C. Authorizing the Finance Officer to make the appropriate budget adjustments.

DISCUSSION
Earlier this year, the Merced Police Department was requested to provide a Police Administrator for the Merced Community College District as their current agreement with the Merced County Sheriff's Department was about to expire. The Police Department agreed to provide these services and placed retired Police Captain Tom Trindad in the position as mutually agreed upon between the police department and the Merced Community College District. The police department entered into a temporary agreement with the college district until a permanent agreement was drafted for consideration by the City Council.
