DISCUSSION

The City has recently experienced a number of retirements in the Engineering Department, with the most recent being the City’s Principal Architect.  This position manages various aspects of Capital Improvement Projects, including the preparation of grant documentation, project specifications, Request for Proposals for consultant services, construction oversight, and so on.

In order to plan for completion of current and future projects approved by the City Council, staff feels it is in the best interest of the City to under fill the current Principal Architect vacancy with a Senior Engineer.

IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES

Funding is available within the Fiscal Year 2016-17 budget.
