REPORT IN BRIEF

Consider appointing two individuals to the Personnel Board.

 

RECOMMENDATION

City Council - Adopt a motion appointing Terri Lucas to serve as a member of the Personnel Board to a seat with a term expiration of July 1, 2019, and appointing Fred Buckingham to a seat with a term expiration of July 1, 2021.

DISCUSSION

There are currently two vacancies on the Personnel Board.  Both vacancies are the result of Board Members who have served two full terms and are no longer eligible to serve.  The City Clerk’s Office has received two applications for the Personnel Board.  The applications of Terri Lucas and Fred Buckingham, as well as the current roster, are attached.

 

History and Past Actions:

The Personnel Board, created by City Charter, recommends to City Council the adoption, amendment, or repeal of civil service rules and regulations, in addition to other personnel matters.  The Board consists of five members who serve four-year terms of office.
