REPORT IN BRIEF
Consider accepting nominations and appointing two individuals to the Bicycle Advisory Commission.

RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion accepting nominations and appointing two applicants to serve on the Bicycle Advisory Commission with term expiration dates of July 1, 2021.

DISCUSSION
The Bicycle Advisory Commission (BAC) serves as an advisory body to the City of Merced, advising the City Council on matters relating to improving conditions for bicyclists, promoting bicycling as a means of transportation with the associated benefits of improved air quality, and improving safety conditions for bicyclists.

The Commission consists of seven registered City of Merced voting members, with two ex-officio members appointed at City Council discretion. Ex-officio members are non-voting members who may be non-City residents living within the City's sphere of influence, or persons who otherwise demonstrate a strong concern for bicycle-related issues within the City. Regular meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of every even-numbered month during normal business hours.

On July 1, 2017, the terms of Robert Tyler and Lisa Kaiser-Grant ended. Both of these individuals have served two terms and are not eligible for reappointment.
