SUBJECT: Agreement for Professional Services with Provost and Pritchard Engineering Group, Inc. for Cooper Avenue Sewer Lift Station Design Services, Project No. 114004
REPORT IN BRIEF
Authorizes an agreement for sewer facility design services for the Cooper Avenue Lift Station located in the West Merced Industrial District.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion approving an agreement for professional services with Provost and Pritchard Engineering Group, Inc., in the amount of $97,170 for engineering design services; and, authorizing the City Manager or Assistant City Manager to execute the necessary documents.

AUTHORITY

Services with an estimated value greater than $29,000.00 are made by written contract in accordance with Merced Municipal Code, Title 3 - Revenue and Finance, Chapter 3.04.
California Government Code Section 4526 - Selection of a firm to perform engineering services shall be on the basis of demonstrated competence and on the professional qualifications necessary for satisfactory performance.

DISCUSSION
Cooper Avenue Lift Station
The Cooper Avenue Lift Station is located approximately 2200 feet west of the intersection of Cooper Avenue and Highway 59 in the City's Western Industrial District. The Station receives wastewater from the surrounding businesses that then flows easterly along Cooper Avenue, south along Highway 59, and eventually to the Wastewater Treatment Plant located 2.5 miles southwest of the City.
