Consider awarding a construction contract in the amount of $363,925.00 for the Scrub Seal Project at various locations.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion awarding the Scrub Seal project at various locations, Project No. 118039 to Telfer Pavement Technologies, LLC, in the amount of $363,925.00; and authorizing the City Manager or Assistant City Manager, to execute the necessary documents and to approve change orders not to exceed 10% of the total contract.

As provided for in the 2018-19 Adopted Budget.
DISCUSSION
The work to be done consists, in general, of applying the polymer modified asphalt sealer (Scrub Seal) to four (4) different streets in different areas within the City of Merced. Items include the traffic control, roadway preparation, crack sealing, installation of the scrub seal, street sweeping, and applying a fog seal.
The following streets are included in this project:
* Merced Avenue from Motel Drive to Parsons Avenue
* Canal Street from Childs Avenue to 16th Street
* 26th Street from M Street to G Street
* El Portal Drive from G Street to Joerg Avenue
Staff prepared plans and specifications, and the project was advertised for bids in the Merced County Times. Bids were opened on July 31, 2018, with the following results:
