RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion approving a software service agreement with OpenGov, Inc. in the amount of $9,500 per year and not to exceed $47,500 for five years and authorizing the City Manager or the Assistant City Manager to execute all necessary documents.

CITY COUNCIL PRIORITIES

DISCUSSION
In fiscal year 2014-15, the City Council provided direction to staff of the Council's intention to promote transparency and encourage citizen engagement by providing a financial tool to be available to the public for review of actual and budgeted revenues and expenditures. The City of Merced contracted with OpenGov, Inc. to use its software service, which was launched on the City's website and can be accessed by interested parties, who can view the city's financial data in a variety of ways.

The current contract with OpenGov, Inc. was for five years and will expire on 6/30/19. In order to continue to provide the financial data on the City's website the contract requires renewal. The original contract was for $9,500 per year. OpenGov, Inc has agreed to renew the agreement with no increase to the cost of service for the next five years.
