REPORT IN BRIEF
Consider approving a two (2) year agreement with McCampbell Analytical, Inc., for bioassay laboratory testing services.

RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion approving an agreement for professional services with McCampbell Analytical, Inc., in the amount of $23,964 annually, for bioassay laboratory testing services for the period ending June 30, 2021; and, authorizing the City Manager or the Assistant City Manager to execute all the necessary documents.

DISCUSSION
Under Federal and State law, the City of Merced is required to perform bioassay laboratory testing of the Wastewater Treatment Facility's (WWTF) effluent water on biological organisms. The WWTF in-house laboratory is not certified to perform these wastewater tests.

Per the City's National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit No. CA00779219, the City is required to conduct monthly acute fathead minnow (Pimephales promelas) and quarterly chronic algae (Selenastrum capricornutum) growth, water flea (Ceriodaphnia dubia) growth and reproduction, and fathead minnow growth and survival testing.
