Considers accepting monetary donation of $10,000 for trees and tree planting materials from Sunrise Rotary Club of Merced. Trees purchased with this donation will be planted downtown and throughout Merced.
RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion accepting $10,000 donation from Sunrise Rotary Club of Merced, increasing revenue account 558-1122-360.02-01 in the amount of $10,000 and appropriating the same in account 558-1122-532.25-00 (supplies and services).

DISCUSSION
Sunrise Rotary Club of Merced brings together a global network of volunteer leaders who dedicate their time and talent to tackle the world's most pressing humanitarian challenges. Rotary connects 1.2 million members from more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Their work impact lives at both the local and international levels, from helping families in need of in their own communities to working toward a polio-free world.
Several trees in the downtown area are in need of replacement. This donation will expedite the tree replacement process significantly. The new Scarlet Oaks will add to the beauty and value of the downtown area.
