REPORT IN BRIEF
Considers approving an amendment to Agreement for Supplies and Services with SNF Polydyne to provide solids handling polymer for the Wastewater Treatment Facility through June 30, 2021.

RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:

A. Approving the First Amendment to Agreement for Supplies and Services with SNF Polydyne, to extend the term of the agreement to June 30, 2021, in an amount not to exceed unit price of $1.12 per pound for solids handling polymer; and

B. Authorizing the City Manager or the Assistant City Manager to execute the necessary documents.

DISCUSSION
The Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) uses cationic polymer in the biosolids dewatering treatment process. Polymer reacts with the sludge to help bind floc together and dewater efficiently through the centrifuge.

Over the years WWTP staff has worked with many vendors to find the best type of polymer to use with our equipment. Polymer vendors are required to qualify their product through on onsite demonstration to show that the polymer will react with our sludge and bind the floc. Once the vendors have qualified, they are invited to bid through the public bidding process.
