DISCUSSION

The City is assisting an affordable housing developer on a project located at the intersection of Childs Ave. and B St. The project is 119 units on just over 4 acres.

As part of the funding, the City and developer applied for grants under the State of California Affordable Housing Sustainable Communities Program (AHSC). The Developer received an award to assist on the housing portion of the project, and the City received funding on other improvements.

Part of this project includes a new park and playground. The park is adjacent to a storm drain basin. The basin is somewhat steep to accommodate the water from the area. The park would be adjacent at the corner. The developer team has done a preliminary layout of the park, and provided some options for play equipment. The proposed age group for the play equipment is ages 5-12. There are also handicapped accessible transfer stations, and one universal piece.
