DISCUSSION

The City Council instructed staff to rehabilitate the 27th and K Youth Center in order to lease the facility out for youth programming activities. The facility underwent repairs and upgrades and is now complete. The Parks and Recreation Department published a request for interest, seeking interested parties and received three applications. One application was deemed ineligible as they were not offering youth services, but rather, services for Veterans. The remaining two applications were from the Restorative Justice League and the Rotary Club.

At the July 27th Recreation and Parks Commission meeting, the two applications were reviewed and discussed by the Commission, and the applicants were both present to answer questions. The Restorative Justice League was awarded the lease by a 3 to 2 vote.

The contract is before you today for your review and approval.
