REPORT IN BRIEF
Requests council approval of an addendum to the existing MOU between Merced Union High School District and the City of Merced temporarily reducing Police Services at the District's four (4) high schools.

RECOMMENDATION
City Council - Adopt a motion:

A. Approving the addendum to the existing Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Merced and Merced Union High School District to provide police services in the District's four high schools; and,

B. Authorizing the City Manager or the Assistant City Manager to execute the agreement; and,

C. Authorizing the Finance Officer to make the appropriate budget adjustments.

DISCUSSION
Due to the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic California Gov. Newsom has required distance learning. Students will not be allowed to attend classes on campus for a period of time during the existing MOU between the City of Merced and the MUHSD. This has reduced the need of police services within the school district.
