DISCUSSION
In January of 2022, the City of Merced applied to the State of California - Natural Resources Agency Department for a Per Capita Grant amount of $177,952.00 to expand the 5,000,000.00 budget allocated for the development of Community Park 42 (CP-42). This grant will allow for the development of two restrooms to be built as part of phase one development at the site. The acceptance of these funds and the installation of restrooms will assist in the establishment of CP-42 being used as a regional sports complex immediately as opposed to waiting for phase two. This grant allocates one-time funding for this specific project (building of restrooms at CP-42) with a performance period ending on June 30, 2024.This grant requires a match to be provided on the part of the City.
IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES
Once it is accepted and appropriated, this $177,952.00 will be available within the FY2021-2022 budget to build two restrooms as part of Phase I of the development of CP-42.
Fund 442-Park Reserve Capital Project has sufficient funding to provide the match in the amount of $44,488. No additional appropriation for the match is needed.
