CITY COUNCIL PRIORITIES

As provided for in the 2022-2023 Adopted Goals & Priorities

DISCUSSION

In response to the January Flood Event, the potential risk of flooding in March and the anticipated excessive run-off potential through the remainder of the Spring and Summer in 2023, City staff is requesting that the City Council approve an agreement with Marderosian & Cohen to complete a Hydrology Study in and around the waterways of the City of Merced, for an amount not to exceed $50,000. The findings of the study will be used to address the planning needs of possible future events.

IMPACT ON CITY RESOURCES

A supplemental appropriation of $50,000 is needed to fund the recommended Hydrology Study.  Funding is available in the unreserved, unencumbered fund balance in Fund 6000-Wastewater System Operations Storm Drain Division.
